Dear Nigerian Believers,
I greet you in love and peace. Today, I feel compelled to share God’s word with you once again, but this time with a deeper sense of urgency. God’s heart beats for each of us, and I sense He wants to speak directly to our spirits. In 2 Corinthians 2:11, Scripture reminds us to be aware of Satan’s tactics, lest we fall prey to his deceit. Let us remain vigilant and attentive to God’s guidance.
Apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 14:3 that prophecy should strengthen, encourage, and comfort the church. With this in mind, I bring God’s word to you prophetically, to warn and uplift you. May God’s love and truth resonate deeply within your hearts, and may His peace be your guiding force.
Yesterday, I had a heartfelt conversation with a friend about the recent fuel price hike and its far-reaching implications. I couldn’t help but express my concern about the government’s effectiveness in addressing our nation’s challenges. As we discussed, I pondered the struggles many face: ‘How will people afford basic necessities when fuel costs are skyrocketing? What about those living paycheck to paycheck?’ The disparity between income and expenses is staggering.
Although I find solace in God’s promise to care for His people, our nation’s state is undeniably troubling. Let’s come together to find ways to navigate these challenges. What initiatives can we support? How can we help one another and foster hope in our communities?”
God has laid three situations on my heart, and I want to share them with you.
Firstly, Psalm 125:3 (NLT) reminds us, “The wicked will not rule the land of the godly, for then the godly might be tempted to do wrong.” In our beloved nation, we’re facing a critical juncture where leaders seem indifferent to citizens’ well-being. This can be overwhelming, especially for those who love the Lord.
The pressure mounts with bills to pay, families to feed, and rising expenses. Even basic necessities become a struggle. In such times, the temptation to compromise one’s values may arise. Some might consider unethical means to make ends meet, like falsifying documents or accepting bribes.
But here’s the word of the Lord to you, dear friend: “Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power” (Ephesians 6:10). I sense God urging you to draw strength from Him during this challenging season. Resist the temptation to compromise your faith, even unto death (Revelation 2:10). Look to Jesus, our perfect example, who endured opposition for our sake (Hebrews 12:3). Don’t grow weary or give up.
Prophetically, some of you may face a critical moment that requires unwavering integrity. Remember, one misstep can have severe consequences. Keep your gaze fixed on Jesus and His promises. He will sustain you through these trials.
Hold on to His word: ‘My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus’ (Philippians 4:19).
Secondly, Dear friends, in these challenging times, many upright believers may feel compelled to take on multiple jobs or work long hours to make ends meet. While this determination is admirable, let’s consider the potential consequences.
Spending excessive time at work can lead to:
- Reduced family time, hindering your ability to nurture and guide your loved ones spiritually.
- Weakened devotion and prayer life, essential for spiritual strength.
- Absence from Sunday services, compromising fellowship and spiritual growth.
Remember, a true Christian prioritizes family responsibilities without compromising their well-being (1 Timothy 5:8). Don’t let the pursuit of extra income open doors for Satan to undermine your family and faith.
God’s word encourages you to trust Him more, believing that:
1. Your efforts can be blessed beyond expectations (Psalm 90:17).
2. His grace can multiply the little you earn (2 Corinthians 9:8).
3. His favor will see you through challenging times (Psalm 37:3–5).
4. Don’t let Satan’s tactics deceive you with rationalizations like ‘I am the church.’ Instead, cling to God’s promises and prioritize your family, prayer life, and spiritual growth.
Will you permit Satan to wreak havoc, or will you stand firm in faith, trusting God’s provision and guidance?
Thirdly, Challenging times can weigh heavily on Christians, leaving many feeling downtrodden and hopeless, like zombies wandering without direction. The struggle to find someone to share their story with can be overwhelming.
Even though Scripture promises divine assistance, doubts creep in: “Where will help come from?” Believers cling to reassuring verses like “He knows the number of hairs on my head” (Luke 12:7), only to worry again upon hearing dire news.
Dear believer, remember Jesus’ words:
“Do not worry about your life… Consider the ravens… God feeds them, and you are far more valuable” (Luke 12:22–24).
“Consider the wildflowers… God clothes them; He will clothe you” (Luke 12:27–28).
Seek God’s kingdom; He knows your needs (Luke 12:30–31).
Don’t let difficulties stop you from giving to the Lord and generously supporting the poor.
Recall God’s faithfulness: Has He ever failed? Never! He’ll uphold you; help you provide for your family.
Guard your heart against depression. Hold on, dear friend! God’s got your back.
Shalom!
