In this publication, we wouldn’t be defining prophecy again as we already did in the previous publication. You can please check our publication titled “WHAT PROPHECIES MUST DO” if you want to understand the definition of prophecy and some other important details about prophecy.

However, in this publication, our focus is to establish the place of faith in prophecy both for the vessel that carries the prophetic word and the receiver of the prophetic word.

What then is Faith?

A diverse definition has been given by many preachers and writers of the gospel, we are not attempting to redefine faith, however for the sake of this publication define faith as

“Believing the Word of God or trusting in the capacity of God.”

It is as simple as that. The role of faith is crucial in prophecy as it is crucial in the salvation experience. Faith is the backbone by which Christians live (Hebrews 10:38). This is why Paul wrote to the Romans in Romans 12:6;

“Having then gifts differing according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if. prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith.”

Faith becomes crucial in the prophetic, both for the vessel that is communicating the prophetic word and the receiver of such prophetic word.

Hence, if someone gives an evil word concerning you, you can stretch your faith and stop it. Faith is that important. Anyone who would receive from God must believe or have faith (James 1:6–8).

Below is a list of 3 things each for the vessel and the receiver on what they must have faith for if there would be an end-to-end prophetic release and fulfillment of prophetic word.

For the vessel — the man or woman God is using to give the prophetic word, he must believe

1. That God is truly the one speaking to him even in the face of the seemingly contradictory issue. This, however, doesn’t jump on one. We consistently grow in the prophetic. You must have grown in handling the matters of the spirit that you would know the voice of God and separate that voice from the voice of your human spirit (John 10:27).

2. That God is capable enough to fulfill His word and He will watch over His word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12)

3. That God will encourage, comfort, and edify the receiver (1 Corinthians 14:3).

For the receiver — he must believe

1. That God has sent this man to him. Until you accept the ministry of a man, you cannot enjoy the blessings of the man (Matthew 10:41).

2. That God is faithful enough to fulfill His word and promises (Deuteronomy 7:9).

3. That he or she has a duty to war with the prophetic word to ensure its fulfillment (1 Timothy 1:18). To war with prophecy is to align with prophecy. To war with prophecy is to pray with prophecy. To war with prophecy is to fulfill the prophetic instructions.
