CONFLUENCE OF TIME
Calvary greetings and a happy new month to you dear reader,
A. As we examine and discern the present situation of the church in Nigeria and beyond, we will notice a series of transitions of fathers of faith to the bosom of our Christ. These transitions aren’t haphazard, they are meticulous in providing access for the next generation of mighty men of God who will bring in a divine move that bridges the gap between archaic patterns and new divine expressions. These men are on the horizon. You could read our previous article titled “7 Deacons of Power”, it explains these intricacies in a more detailed way.
As I write, I am reminded of the dedication of the Jewish temple after the exile. According to Ezra’s account in Ezra 3, the older generation was weeping because they saw a temple not as glamorous as that of Solomon but the younger generation was rejoicing because at least they now have a temple to worship in. These two expressions were married in such a way that the Bible says;
“The people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off.” — Ezra 3:13.
It’s easy to dismiss the sound of weeping and embrace the shouts of joy, but here’s what the Lord says, “The ‘sound of the weeping’ shows a generation that they can’t settle for anything less than the ancient landmarks and testimonies that has been handed over to them while the ‘shouts of joy’ stirs the generation towards future glory that awaits”.
More so, in this event, we saw past and future confluence into the present. No other events could adequately describe such aggregation of time. This is why the next phase in the dispensation of the Church is that with such peculiarities; ancient mantles will intertwine new frontiers. The angels of heaven are getting set to be involved for they will be active players in this coming season that is already upon us.
So how does a believer position himself?
- Prayerfully engage (Pray for the church and the quick fulfillment of the season. Be a man of His presence; those who are, will be effective and efficient in those days. Read PRIESTHOOD).
- Submissively learn (Don’t let pride and self cloud your way)
- Humbly discern (Ezra 4)
It is important to hint that these are not the days of divine moves localized in a place or territory, the advent of technology and its ability to bring the world together will be put to use as the move will be seen in different parts of the globe but it will be undeniably “the Church”.
B. This is a call to prayer for every believer who gets to read this.
Let’s raise prayer altars for every Evangelist taking the gospel to the unreached. Let’s pray for their families and their welfare.
Let’s pray for the itinerant preachers, that they are firm and safe.
Let’s pray for our church leaders, that they are discerning and lead the folks right.
Yours in faith,
Adesoji Fasanya
